7th & 8th Grade Honors Summer Reading
Students enrolled in 7th or 8th Grade Honors Reading Language Arts for the 2026–2027 school year are required to complete a summer reading assignment before the start of school.
Honors is a program designed to engage students in active, high-level learning while helping them develop the skills, habits, and concepts needed for success in high school, honors and AP courses, and college-level work.
The summer assignment is intended to encourage critical thinking, strengthen reading and writing skills, and prepare students for the rigor of the Honors curriculum. Students should carefully review all assignment directions and expectations before beginning their work.
Completed assignments are due on the first day of school, Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
Families are encouraged to support students in planning ahead and allowing enough time during the summer to thoughtfully complete the assignment.
